“ARTIST DREAMS”… TO DONATE “A GIANT NATIVE AMERICAN STATUE” to all 50 States, CANADA & EUROPE… So far “Peter “Wolf” Toth” has created "74" "WHISPERING GIANTS" out of STONE & WOOD - donating them to "all 50 States" - CANADA & EUROPE... For the purpose of honoring Heroic American Indians - whom I feel were victims of long abuse.. & ALL people facing injustice... Starting from a “Cliff side in California, to the Danube in Europe”… (this more recent statue even honors the Heroic Ukrainian Freedom Fighters). The next statue is planned along the Amazon…. And San Antonio, Texas… "Being HUMBLE means recognizing that we are not on earth to see how important we can become, but to see how much DIFFERENCE we can make in the lives of others." PWT

After his family escaped Hungary Peter "Wolf" Toth continued his studies in Vienna, Austria until his family immigrated to the USA. He was
conversant in three languages with English being his third one. He then studied art at the University of Akron, and learned a lot from watching
his Father (also an artist). Peter's Sister, Zsuzsannah, a niece Ibojka and his two daughters Mindy and Chelsi are also very talented artists.
Peter considers himself to be self-taught. He started as an artist in painting, graduated to creating stone images, then to wood. He is an artist
who also uses clay, metal, and welding, using the many talents he has been given. His dreams were to create a statue in the likeness of American
Indian Tribes with elements of expressionist/impressionist form. He soon found himself embarked unexpectedly on a spiritual mission to honor the
heroic native American Indians of his new country. The "Whispering Giants" Trail is a collection of sculptures created by the Hungarian-born artist
who has great Love for this Nation and its native Americans Indians. He has done so to honor all the tribes of the native American Indian
and all people who face injustice. He created his first sculpture on a cliffside of rock in La Jolla, California in 1971. By 2009, he had created
74 "Whispering Giants" in each of the 50 U.S. States, as well as in Canada. A number of U.S. States have more than one of his Sculptures. In 2008, he
created his first "Whispering Giant" in Europe, along the Danube River as a tribute to the indigenous peoples of Europe. It is his intention to
honor all indigenous peoples around the world in a like manner.

The 74 "Whispering Giants" all resemble natives of the region in which they are located. Peter always donates the "Whispering Giant" he creates to
the city or tribe he carved it in, and never charges a fee for his time. He does require the raw materials (a large log between 4 and 10 feet in
diameter) be provided. Over the decades he has been invited by the city and state officials, or Tribal Chiefs of many Tribes and their Councils to
create a likeness representing their people. Some of these entities have become patrons of his creations and actively supported his efforts by
offering support in many ways. He has personally known the Chiefs of many of the Tribes and organizations such as the American Indian Movement of
Dennis Banks. Who personally voiced his approval of Peter's efforts to support and honor the history of the American Indian Tribes. Some of the
tribes have honored him by making him an honorary member of their tribes. Because of him honoring the history and culture of the American Indians
(and other American Indian tribes across the Nation) the Eastern Band of Cherokee Council in North Carolina in turn honored him with his own Indian
name. Hence his name Peter "Wolf" Toth making him a member of the "Wolf Clan". Upon viewing the "Whispering Giant" sculpture honoring Sequoyah
in Cherokee, North Carolina, Chief Of The Seminoles Joe Dan Osceola is reported to have said the following regarding Peter "Wolf" Toth. "Many
people think highly of your sculptures and compare them to those of Michelangelo". (attributed quote). The sculpture he created in Cherokee,
North Carolina was appraised by the museum executives to have a value of $3.5 million dollars. Others vary in value. He has appeared in PM Magazine;
on NBC's Nightly News (Tom Brokaw); ABC's World News This Morning; NBC's Real People; Kidsworld; CBS In The News; Carried on Paul Harvey noon
broadcast; in Ripley's Believe It or Not!; People Magazine; Grit; Children's Weekly Reader; The New York Times and carried by AP and UPI in
major newspapers nationwide. More recently the National Geographic magazine published an interview with him in their December 2018 National
Geographic edition Page 120-121.

I Love Science and the pursuit of intellect and knowledge - even if I work with a hammer, chisel and paint brush primarily to create the
"Whispering Giants," like Artists used 2000 years ago. Before starting work on a "Whispering Giant," Peter confers with Indigenous Native
American Tribes and local lawmakers. The sculpture that is created is a composite of all the physical characteristics, especially features,
of Indigenous tribes, as well as their stories and histories. PWT

In 1989 I was traveling through the Smoky Mountains of North Carolina when suddenly, rounding a curve, I saw this man in a tank top and shorts
chiseling on this giant wooden Indian sculpture before me! Since I have a long interest in American Indian history, customs and heritage from
my Wife's family (Cherokee and Choctaw) I stopped to see what was going on and met Peter "Wolf" Toth! The Sculptor of 74 "Whispering Giant" Indian
sculptures across all 50 States. I bought a copy of his book "Indian Giver" which I have read and still have! This edition has the picture of his
Alaskan "Whispering Giant," Nr41, 1981 in Valdez, Alaska, unlike the photo shown above on this webpage. His book can still be found for sale
on the internet. I highly recommend it! He was completing his 63rd sculpture while I watched. It was quite the experience in talking with him and
watching him work. It is one I really have never forgotten. Recently during a conversation with a friend in North Carolina the subject of the Smoky
Mountains came up. It caused me to remember Peter and I contacted him to see if he was still walking this planet and he is! I called him and
some nearly 35 years later, he and I, to our great surprise, are about to embark on a new project to bring another "Whispering Giant" to life in
the Amazon (projected to be the 1st one in South America!) and also San Antonio! The latter will replace the only one that he created in Texarkana
years ago. It has been damaged by the elements. He has chosen San Antonio for many reasons. The two new adventures are to create new treasures for
all to enjoy. They are also possibly his last "Whispering Giants" before age and health catch up with him. He stated that "at his advanced age of
75 I only have about 30 years left. Life is so short." He plans to make it the biggest and best sculpture yet to honor the three Texas tribes who
are located in the State of Texas and the descendants of the 22+ tribes who for centuries had called Texas home.

Currently Peter Toth resides in Edgewater, Florida, where he has a studio. At times he receives requests from cities or tribes who have his sculptures,
to repair or replace "Whispering Giants" that have been damaged by the elements over the years.
